Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to the questions that come up most.
Is my real money at risk?+
Only if mode is set to live AND auto-trade is enabled. By default the agent runs in demo against eToro's simulated environment — no real capital moves.
Why was a high-confidence signal skipped?+
Every skip records a reason: low confidence, auto disabled, not tradable, conflict with an open position, caps hit, non-directional model output, or stale headline. Open the Signals page and click the row to see the exact reason.
Why didn't the agent close my losing position?+
The executor only closes positions when the AI explicitly says close, when the stop-loss is hit, or when you close manually. Silence on a ticker defaults to hold. Open the latest brief to see the per-position verdict.
How do I pause the agent?+
In Config, flip auto_trade_enabled to false (stops new opens, keeps monitoring) or active to false (full halt). The agent also auto-pauses when drawdown exceeds the configured limit.
Why are there two portfolios?+
Demo and live are completely independent — separate peak, drawdown, positions and history. Switching modes does not migrate anything.
How often does the agent trade?+
Three scheduled passes a day (Asia, EU, US opens) plus intraday reactions on breaking news or imminent events. Actual order count depends on confidence threshold and how many signals clear the gates.
Where can I see proof a cycle ran?+
Jobs page — the 'Last portfolio cycle' panel shows trigger, inputs, opens, closes and errors with a link to the brief.
Can I change the AI model?+
The active model is recorded on each brief (ai_model). Switching is a config change — talk to the operator first; different models behave very differently.
